MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
The nomination of candidates for the office of Mayor of the City of Christchurch closed yesterday. The following gentlemen were nominated W. H. Cooper, T. Gapes, and E. Smith. The election takes place on the 28th insc. The nominations for Sydenham and Linwood close to-morrow.
Messrs W. J. Brooker and J. Penteney were yesterday nominated for tbe Mayoralty of St. Albans.
There are four candidates for the Lyttelton Mayoralty, namely—Mr J. Thompson (the present Mayor), and Crs. S. R. Webb, JT. Stinspn and N. U. Schumacher.
Mi John Orr was yesterday re-elected unopposed to the Ashburton Mayoral chair.
(press association telegrams.) AUCKLAND, November 20. Mr J. J. Holland has been re-elected Mayor of Auckland. He was unopposed. NEW PLYMOUTH, November 20. Mr J. B.
