BROADFIELD.

Mr A. P. O'Callaghan, one of the candidates for the representation of Lincoln electoral district, addressed a meeting of the electors at the Broadfield Sohool on Friday evening last, Mr John Maginness was voted to the chair. Mr O'Oallaghan very fully explained his views upon the chief political topics of the day, and his address, which was a resume ot those he had previously delivered at other places in the district, was listened to by a very attentive and numerous body of the eleotors. Mr O'Oallaghan very satisfactorily answered a number of questions put to him by several eleotors. A hearty vote of thanks to the candidate was proposed by Mr B. Aitken, and seconded by Mr J. Haydon, and carried with acclamations. Mr O' Jallaghan thanked the meeting for the vote of thank**, and expressed himself content to leave a vote of confidence to the ballot. A vote of thanks to the chairman for presiding terminated a very orderly and cordial meeting.

HAMILTON, Deecmber 3. Sir G. Grey addressed a crowded meeting here, and received a vote of confidence.

NAPIER, December 3. The Waipawa nominations are—Ormond and W. C. Smith. Mr Sydney Johnstone has retired.

For Hawke's Bay, Messrs Buisell and Sutton are nominated.

WELLINGTON, Deoember 3,

At the nomination for South Wellington to-day, Paul Coffey, W. B. Edwards, Wm. Hutchison, Charles Hendrey, and 0. J. Forward were proposed. The latter found no seoonder. The show of hands was—Coffey, 56; Hutchison, 43; Edwards, 18; Hendrey, 9. The nominations for Masterton North, Wairarapa, were Messrs Benall and Beetham, The show of hands was in favor of the former.

DUNEDIN, December 3. Mr Barron was re-elected for Gave—ham without opposition. For Boslyn, John Bathgate, Captain Scott, Edmund Hodgkinson, and David Millar, were nominated. The show of hands was— Hodgkinson, 20; Scott, 14 ; Bathgate, 11; Millar, 1. For the Peninsula —James Seaton, W. H. Cutten, M. Donnelly, and James Lewis, were nominated. The show of hands was — Button, 14 ; Donnelly, 10; Seaton, 1 ; Lewis, 0. TIMABU, Deoember 3. Messrs John Manchester, W. J. Steward, J. Clements, W. Bateman and C. V. Clarke were nominated for Waimate to-day. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Manchester.
