RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Chbistohubch —September 6. [Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.] A. Allard was fined £1 for being the owner of an unregistered dog.. George Lloyd was brouj-ht up in custody, charged with being drunk and incapable. As the prisoner had not been before the Bench before, he was dismissed with a caution. Philip Muller, George Gebhardt and J. G. Ruddenklau were fined £1 each for not having a light burning in front of their licensed houses. John Mcc and George Ward were fined 5s each for a breach of the Cattle Trespass Ordinance. Fred. R. White was charged with using abusive and insulting language to Thomas Tennant, and also with wilfully breaking and destroying a door, the property of complainant. Defendant appeared in Court intoxicated, and he was ordered to be removed until two o'clock. At a later stage of the proceedings defendant was again brought up, and the case being fully proved, he was fined £5 for the damage done, and ordered to pay the witness's expenses. David Phillips, John Heenan, and Martin Heenan, were charged with setting fire to a gorse hedge. The case for the prosecution not being proved, the defendants were dismissed with a very severe caution from the Resident Magistrate, who stated that if they should again be brought up before him, he would find means of punishing them severely.
