IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, entituled " The Regulation of Elections Act 1858," and of another Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, entituled " The Provincial Elections Act 1858," I William Donald, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Heathcotc, do hereby give notice, that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the twelfth day of January 1564, issued under the hand of his Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council, for the said Electoral District ; and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at Christehurch Quay on Friday the twenty-second day of January, 1564, at noon ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Saturday the twenty-third day of January, 1864.
