When this deviation is completed it will cut out dozens of curves an<? provide practically a straight run to the summit. A large bridge on this new route is nearly finished. When the new road is ready for traffic it will be an easy matter to travel from Tauranga to Matamala within an hour without speeding. Another two and a half miles of roadway will be sealed on the Kaimai Highway next summer.
