INSTALLATION OF MATOB. A special meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council was held on Monia>" evening for the purpose of tnj stalling the Mayor-elect. Southey drew attention to the state of the pound and suggested tljat the Impounding Committee might be requested to bring In a report for the first ordinary meeting of the new Council: The Mayor considered it would be better to defer the matter till the ordinary meeting on Monday next. HON. H. McKENZIE'S VISIT. j Tho Mayor intimated that the Minister for Public Works was due to arrive in Tauranga the following; day and he hoped that as many members 'of the Council as possible would attend and lay matters re- ! gording the welfare of the district before him.
