COTTRELL REPATRIATED
Advice has been received in Christ; church that the former Canig£ury and All Black footballer, CaptainsI. Cottrell, who has been a P«soner of war since 1942, has been repat£ ated from Germany, and isnow in Britain. Captain Cottrell was captured in Egypt durmg the figbttn| before the Battle of El Alamein ana was a prisoner of war in being transferred to a prison camp in Germany. n^t-din Before he went overseas Captain Cottrell took a leading part in Canterbury Rugby football, both as a. player and an administrator. He represented Canterbury 39 times, and was a New Zealand forward from 1929 to 1932. Later he was a member of the management committee of tne Canterbury Rugby Union.
