ROTORUA ELECTORATE. NATIONAL PARTY CANDIDATE.. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) ROTORUA, Wednesday. At a representative meeting of delegates of the National party to-day Mr. H. W. Nixon, editor of the "Waikato Hamilton, wa-s selected to represent that party in the Rotorua electorate at the / forthcoming general election. The only other candidate so •far in the -field is the sitting' Labour member, Mr. A. F. Moncur. After being.fpr a period in the employ of the Bank of New South Wales, Mr. Nixon took-up- journaiism, and six years after entering the employ .of. the .Christcliurch ''Press" Company, was appointed to the position of editor of the Christchuifch "Star," at that time being the youngest editor of a metropolitan "daily in the Dominion. After active service during the war, in which he obtained a commission, he returned to . Christchurch, where for eleven years he held various positions on the Christchurch "Times," including that of editor. Following the new paper merger in Christchurch he became editor of the "Star-Sun," and later relinquished that position to become editor of the "Waikato Times."
