LICENSES GRANTED. FOR PASSENGER SERVICES. DECISIONS OF AUTHORITY. Further continuous passenger licenses have been issued as follows by the Licensing Autority for the No. 1 transport district, Mr. E. -J. Phelan:—V. C. Smith, for Te Puna-Tauranga service; F. C. Hodgman, Tauranga-Gate Pa-Oropi Road; W. J. Stanley-, Matamata -Tauranga; L. Hunter, WhakataneWhakatane West railway station; A. R. Stott, Opotiki-Tancatua railway station; D. 31. King, Whakatane-Tauranga; T. Wilson, Ruatoki-Wliakatane; C. J. G. Hunt, lulgecu 11) be-Whakatane (permission granted to run additional trips on special occasions, but Operator is not entitled to pick up and set down passengers within the borough of Whakatane); Drake Bros., Wailiou Bay-Tokaha-Opo-tiki; H. O. Drake, same; J. S. Roigard, Te Awamutu-Arapuni; E. Glassev, Nga-roma-Te Awamutu, the operator to have tile light to deviate between Tokonui and Korakonui, and between Korakonui and Wharepuhunga.

Robson and Sons, Morrins-ville-Frankton; A. McKee, TaupiriHamilton (the amount of the mail contract, £224 per annum, to be incorporated in license); L. Hodgson, Kihikihi-Te Awamutu . and Hamilton-Pirongia-Te Awamutu; Ptilham and Begbie, Ltd., Taniwha-Te Kauwhata; and R. S. Beamish, Matainata-Okauia Springs and golf links.
The licenses in each case will have a currency of three years, expiring on February 28, 1939.
