NEW FACTORY.

MOTOR CAR INDUSTRY. ASSEMBLY PLANT PLANNED. The firm of Seabrook, Fowlds, Ltd., has decided to build an assembly factory at Manukaii Road, near the junction with the Great , South Road, in order to comply with the Customs regulations governing the importation of motor vehicles.'. A staff of skilled labour will be for assembling, trim: ming, painting and upholstering work. Tenders have been called for, 'the building, which will cover a large portion of the section,' which extends 300 feet to Williamson Street. The plans are for a single-storey structure of two brick walls and two iron walls, and the plant will be of the most modern kind. In the paint shop an air-condition-ing plant will be installed to absorb paint vapour, and a- new system to check exhaust fumes will be used. Mr. J. Seabrook said that the work to be carried out would fypify the progress of the motor industry, and that of the British car, particularly in the Auckland Province, also the effect of the new Customs' regulations in creating local employment.
