THEATRE RENOVATIONS.
AT MAYFAIB, S ANBBIN 6HAM,
Improvements and renovations on a scale arc being effected by the management of the Mayfair Cinema, Sandringham, formerly known as the Edendale Cinema. Interior furnishings, including carpetings, wall drapes, etc., are being altered and greatly improved, wliilo modern lighting and artistic treatment will give a beautiful effect to the proscenium and orchestra well. Maximum personal comfort will be assured with installation of first-class theatre chairs, specially constructed for the purpose. Heating apparatus will be installed for convenience of patrons duriflg- the coming winter months.
A feature of the improvements is the provision, for the first time in any cinema in the world, of a Dynamum colour effects projector, which will provide distinctive colourings in the auditorium and on the screen, changeable at will, enhancing the aspect of impressive scenes. The machine has a number of other functions, one of which is for tinting landscapes and seascapes.
The management, consisting of Mr. Mervyn Campbell, proprietor, and Mr. P. G. M-.fmford, manager, in reorganising the theatre, have negotiated suburban priority screening contracts with United Artists and R.K.0., assuring patrons of early releases of city successes.
