"REVIVAL FIRE."

MR. DALLIMORE IN TARANAKI. AN INTER.TECTOR REMOVED. Some Warm repartee and not a little feeling characterised the opening New Plymouth "revival lire" meeting held by the Auckland evangelist and faithhealer, Mr. A. H. Dallimore (reports the "Taranaki Herald"). There was a good attendance, though, for the greater part, the audience appeared more curious than believing* Mr. Dallimore assured his hearers that there would be a better understanding between them at the end of the week and that they should eee such manifestations of faith-healing as tlicy had never dreamed of. He also told the audience that he had received his first call to "God's work" in Opunake 40 years ago. At this stage there was a hubbub near the back of the theatre, where the man concerned was located smoking, a pipe. His interjections were continually punctuating the speaker's remarks. "You're not going to spoil people's pleasure here to-night," said Mr. Dallimore. "Yes I am," replied the interjector. More repartee ensued, and the man who had interjected rose to his feet and denounced Mr. Dallimore. He was hustled out of the theatre by a-etalwart attendant. Outside the man could be heard endeavouring to persuade the attendant to "go and get your head read." For some 15 minutes after this the squabble continued. There had been a lot said against him, stated Mr. Dallimore, but he would not defend himself, though he would defend the gospel. He did, however, desire to remove prejudices. He was not a fraud, he was not a. hypnotist. He was everything but what they said he was. Concerning his faith-healing, Mr. Dallimore said that he had received in the past three years between 2000 and 3000 testimonies of healing. A selfappointed committee which investigated his faith-healing in Auckland found only 40 cases which had not been cured. -Ho quite expected that there would bo as many as this in New Plymouth, but there would, too, be some wonderful healing. A woman in the body of the theatre rose and professed to have been cured of goitre by Mr. Dallimore in Hamilton six months ago. The speaker read other testimonies and announced that he would commence his faith-healing on the following evenmg.
