POSTULANTS RECEIVED.
ST. MARY'S CONVENT.
Five postulants were received into the Order of Mercy at St. Mary's Convent yesterday afternoon. Bishop Liston performed the ceremony and preached an eloquent sermon. Those who took the veil are Miss Eileen Conroy, of Dulavin, County Wicklow, Ireland (in religion, Sister'M. Edward); Miss Muriel Barron, of Waihi (Sister Mary Gabriel); Miss Gertrude Bayer, of Puhoi (Sister Mary Stephen); Miss Lesley Hunt, of Onthunga (Sister Teresa Mary); Miss Olive Mellor, of Whitianga (Sister Mary Peter). The bishop and clergy and relatives and friends of the newly-received were afterwards entertained by the Rev. Mother and sisters.
