OBITUARY.

MR. NISBET McROBIE. Mr. Nisbet Mcßobie, a highlyesteemed business man of Auckland for the past 15 years, and one keenly interested in sport, died at his home, King George Avenue, Epsom, at the age of 55 years, after a protracted illness. Mr. Nisbet was born in Invercargill, and served his apprenticeship to the printing trade. When he was out of his time he worked on the Chi'istchurch "Press," and later on the Timaru "Post." He next moved to Wellington, and 1904 was factory manager for the '"New Zealand Times." His next position was. manager of the Pahiatua "Herald," but afterwards he returned to Wellington as manager of the "Times." In 1909 he bought the Waihi "Daily. Times," but sold out in 1915, and came to Auckland to take the position of secretary and manager of the ■ Business Printing Works, Ltd. He was president of the Master Printers' Association from 1916 to 1924, and of the New Zealand Master Printers' Federation from 1922 to 1924. In 1911 Mr. Mcßobie unsuccessfully contested the Ohinemuri seat as a candidate for the Reform party. Throughout his life Mr. Mcßobie was keenly interested in sport. In his younger days he was a prominent Rugby footballer in Southland. He played for the Pirates Club between 1894 and 1900, and represented Southland in interprovincial Rugby from 1888 to 1896, winning All Black honours in IS9B, when he was a member of the New Zealand team which went to Queensland. He was a dashing forward, and could dribble brilliantly. Mr. Mcßobie also played golf, and was captain of the Maungakiekie Club in 1927. In his later years he was an enthusiastic bowler, and had been president of the Remuera Club. He also found time to devote his energy to the work of the Presbyterian Church. He w,as a member of the Pacific Clubhand at one time chairman of the Auckland Royal Choir. He is survived by Mrs. Mcßobie (formerly Miss Mary Dunlop), and the following children:—Miss Mary Mcßobie, Mr. Stuart Mcßobie, of Auckland, and Mr. Douglas N. Mcßobie, of Wellington.
