WATCHING A CAR ASSEMBLY.
INTERESTING WORK VIEWED BY VISITORS. Over 100 car owners availed themselves last Wednesday evening of the invitation extended by Dominion Motors, Ltd., to visit their assembly plant at 161, Albert Street, in full work. Starting with the bare side members of the chassis On ono end of the assembly line, motorists were able to follow that part right through all its process of evolution, including pneumatic rivetting of the cross members, fitting in of the engine and component parts, attaching the body, which hung suspended at the exact spot reached by the chassis when ready for it, and bolting together of the whole, until the car was ready to drive away. The whole occupation on one car occupied one hour. Needless to say, the assembly line was kept fully occupied, so that a number of Essex cars were made ready for the saleroom during the course of the evening's work. The lectures will be continued to-morrow evening. '
