HOSPITAL FOR BOYS.
WESLEY COLLEGE MEMORIAL.
OPENING NEXT SATURDAY
For the n<cdical care of the boys at Wesley College, Paerata, two miles north of Pukckohe, a modern hospital has been built and equipped by Mrs. W. H. Smith as a memorial to her nephew, Mr. W. H. Caughey, who died while on war service. It will be officially opened on Saturday next, at 2.45 p.m. The new hospital block includes a main ward with room for eight beds, a sun verandah for six beds, an isolation ward, a dispensary, nurses' quarters and a kitchen. The building is of brick and has cost about £2000. It was designed by Mr. E. A. Pearce and built bv Mr. A. G. Grinter.
In connection with the official opening, the ceremony will be performed by the donor, Mrs. Smith. Addresses wiil be given by the Hon. George Fowlds, president of the University College Council and Mr. H. P. Caughey, chairman of the Board of Governors. The Rev. Professor H. Ranston, president of the Methodist Conference, will unveil a memorial tablet.
Wesley College is SO years old. and has a roll of 112, one-third of the scholars being native boys. The farm on which the college is now situated comprises 680 acres.
