. ■ ■ • — "■ j MRS. E. J. RICHMOND. A SOCIAL WORKER. The death of Mrs. E. .T. Richmond, at Havelock North, on Sunday, has removed a well known social and religious worker. Deceased early in her life took a keen interest in social and charitable work. For many years she was an official visitor - of the gaols throughout the DominionShe was also interestctl in education. Thirty-five years ago Mrs. Richmond, with Miss Hayward, were members of tbe Taranaki Education Board. In later years Mrs. Richmond was a leader in New Zealand of the Anthroposophica 1 movement. Deceased was a daughter of the late Major Parris, and was bom at New Plymouth in 1844. She yvas married to the late Mr. Henry Robert Richmond, one-time superintendent of taranaki province. Mr. IT. P. Richmond, president of the Auckland Law Society, U the only son of deceased. «nd Mrs. Compton Smith, of Havelock North is her daughter. OLD THAMES RESIDENT. Donkin fPonsonby), P. G. Ardern (Heme Bay), Ed. Newton, .J, Mahony, and Isabel Bush-Stcphcnson (of Rotorua).
