Sir .Tamos Miller is reported to have won £14,000 over the Derby, so thab, including his share of the stakes, ho was nearly £9,000 to the good after allowing for the price of Sainfoin. Watts, who rode Sainfoin, received a present of £500 from Sir James Miller. The lucky Duke of Portland drew Sainfoin and Surefoob in tha Derby " sweep " at, the London Turf Club. Under the new conditions governing the Derby this year thero was a surplus of 43050w., which went to the owner of the winner, an:l made the amount credited to Sir J. Miller s,43Csovs. The nominator of Sainfoin, Mr J. Porter, received SOOsovs., so thab tha value of the race was £5,930.
