TRAGIC OCCURRENCE.

Two Children Burnt to Death and Two Others Injured.

Intelligence was received to-day by Suporintendant Thomson of a sad calamity which occurred early this morning at Tamahoro, Waikato. Tho first telegram to hand was from Sergoant McGovern, and from it wo gather that Mr Camp's hotel, at Tamahere, was burnt down at ono o'clock this morning. Two of the landlord's children wero burnt to death and two others injured. Those who lost their lives were Albert Camp, aged 10 years, and Edward Camp, aged 4 years. Honry, an older brother, aged 15 years, was badly burnt, while Willie, aged 5 years, was slightly injured. No information was to hand respecting the origin of the outbreak, but there is no suspicion of incendiarism. Camp's tailor's shop, next to tho hoto1, and the stabling wero also destroyed. The two latter places wero uninsured, but there was a policy of £700 on tho hotel in tho Colonial office, and tho furniture was insured in tho same office for £000. Mr Camp estimatos his financial loss at fully £GOO. An inquest on the bodies of tho children will be hold at 11a.m. on Monday next. Mr Camp, tho proprietor of tho hotol, is woll known in town. Ho carried on a tailoring establishment at tho foot of Grcy-streot for soveral years, and has conducted the Tamahero Hotel since its opening, scvoral years ago. The hotel was situated on the main road betweon Hamilton and Cambridge, and was familiarly known to travellers as tho Half-way House.
