FRANKLIN NORTH NOMINATIONS.
The nominations for the electoral district cf Franklin North, took place in the public hall, Otahubu. Mr Shanaghan was the returning ofheer. Mr W. F. Buckland was proposed by Mr H. S.Andrews, and seconded by Mr Caleb Wallis. Mr Samuel Luke was proposed by Mr Wm, Goodfeliow, J.P., and eeconded by Mr John McAnulty. Major Harris was proposed by Mr S. Coasey, and seconded by Mr H. S. Reid. Mr Gordon was proposed by Mr William Abaolum, and secondtd by Mr H. Scurrab. KUSSELL, this day. The nomination took place to-day. The show of hands was in favour of Mr Hobba, 17 ; Mr Lundon, 3. WAIPA KLECTOKATE. HAMILTON, this day. Six candidates were proposed: Major Williamson Jackson, by Captain Rutherford and "William Slator; Mr A. Whitaker, by John Fisher and H. Hadfield ; Mr E. U. McMinn, by Gormann and Thomas Rothwell; Mr "William Johns, by P. Corboy and J. B. Teasdale.
The candidates addressed the meeting. Mr Minn Baid as a representative of the settlers, there being two other sncll in the field, he feared he would defeat the object be bad In view, and therefore begged to withdraw from tho candidature A show of hands was then taken, and resulted:— Whitakor, 22 j Johns, 7j Jackaonj 6', McMiun, _; (withdrawn).
