ENGLISH RACING.
LONDON, September 1. •■ Abbot's Trace (Donoghue) beat Spion Kop (Frank Bullock) in the Derbyshire Three-year-old Plate. They were the only runners. To-day's race was "regarded as an exercise gallop for Spion Kop. Abbot's Trace led for half* a, mile, where Spion Kop went to the front, but inside the distance Abbot's Trace challenged and won a desperate race by the shortest head. Abbot's Trace caused a. sensation in the 1920 Derby, leading to the distance, where he fell, through Sarchedon's interference.
