Air Semple gave notice of his-inten-tion to-ask the' Government if it will this session introduce a Bill having for its object complete nationalisation of the coal industry in all its branches.
Air Brown gave notice of his intention to ask the Government if it will lay before the House a return showing the cost of the" recent referendum on the liquor question. Replying to Sir John Findlay, 'Mr Aiassey said that next sitting day he proposed to give the House an opportunity to place on record appreciation of the great services to the Empire of the late General Botha. The. GovernorGeneral had cabled on behalf of New Zealand an expression of sympathy with the people of South Africa, in connection with the death of their great statesman. Herries), Whangarei Harbour "Board Vesting and Empowering (Air Maunder), Alanawatu County Loai and Empowering Amendment (Air Newman), Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment (Mr Walker), Tologa Bay Harbour (Hon. W. D. S. AlacDonald), Toll Gates Abolition (Air Wilkinson). Shops and Offices Act Amendment (Air AlcCombs), Hotel and Restaurant and Private and Boarding House Employees' Six Days a Week {Mr P. Eraser), Auckland Harbour Board Loan and Empowering (Mr Myers), Wellington City Milk (Mr Wright), Alatakaoa County (Air M'acDonall), Factories Act Amendment (Mr Holland), Workers' Accommodation (Mr Veitch), Workers Compensation '(Air Walker), Alumcipal Corporations Amendment (Dr. Thacker) Wellington City Empowering Amendment., (Mr P. Eraser), Alaori War Medal (Mr Wright);-Legislature Amendment (Mr Wright), Westport Technical School Site (Mr Colvin), Naturalised Subjects Franchise ("Mr Brown), The House passed the usual motions expressing high sense of appreciation of the services to tho country and sympathy with the relatives in connection with tho death of the following former relatives: —Hon. A. L. 1). Eraser, Hon. Donald Roid, Hon. Thos., Thompson, Air Jackson Palmer, Air R. Al. Taylor Air S. Buxton, Air William James Speight, Hon. William H. Al. Tucker, and Hon. Hamilton Gilmer. The s'House adjourned at 5.50 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, when tke Finance Bill and the ratification of the Peace Treaty will be considered.
