BODY FOUND IN LYTTELTON HARBOUR.

LYTTELTON, October 21. The body of an unknown man, too decomposed for recognition, was found floating near the fishermen's steps in Lyttelton harbour this morning. Deceased was apparently a middle-aged man, sft Oin or oft lOin in height, weighing about 12 stone, clean shaven, light brown or auburn hair, wearing a blue serge coat, grey tweed vest, blue worsted trousers, lace-up boots, striped tennis shirt, and woollen singiet and drawers.

F. Muschamp was found drowned in the" Clarence river near the accommodation house on Saturday. The three-weeks' old infant of Mr Thomas Stevenson, Woodend, on Friday night died in the arms of its mother, while the latter was watching a fire that was destroying a neighbour's dwelling. At the inquest on Saturday a verdict was returned that death was due to natural causes.
